Recent progress of IT & mobile communication industries have naturally raised the performance standard in personal computer and other related equipments on end-users' side. The heat generated by high-performance logic chips such as CPU and GPU is inevitable and its amount has been growing at threatening speed. Therefore, it is highly critical to find solutions to efficiently control the excessive heat, yet the solution is not to be easily obtained.
Conventional cooling system uses a fan to blow air to a finned heat sink attached to the chip surface. As heat transfer ratio mostly depends on the velocity of the air moving through the fins, to obtain higher cooling performance, the RPM of a fan should be also raised, which will certainly cause higher noise level. This is where air-cooler's limitations lie and the need for high-performance/low-noise cooling system arises.
Under these circumstances, we, 3R System, have been developing, manufacturing and selling water-cooling systems.
Every liquid cooling system for CPU in the market operates with the following process and principles.
First, heat transfers from the CPU core to the metal plate/casing (usually water block), through which a certain kind of liquid is passing. Convection heat transfer occures from the metal surface to the moving liquid, which is then carried to a radiator by any kind of pump. The liquid is cooled down while passing through the radiator and returns to the metal plate/casing. This process is repeated.
We, 3R System, have developed the technologies to integrate the pump into the water block, which is essential to realizing compact size CPU liquid-cooler, and will continue to lauch high-performance/low-noise models based on the technologies. |
